GIS information encompasses practically every aspect of daily life. As more of our world is modeled with GIS, the amount of information compiled grows exponentially. Consequently, it is important that GIS data is properly organized to allow people to efficiently make use of this information.

Pueblo County's numerous GIS data layers are organized thematically, based upon guidelines from the Federal Geographic Data Committee and modified slightly to meet Pueblo County's needs.

Hydrography data is devoted entirely to how water resides in and flows through Pueblo County, the hydrography category includes layers representing lakes, streams and rivers and irrigation ditches.
